APPLY VIDEO PRE-PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES: HEALTH AND SAFETY

the ‘recce’
Provide answers in paragraph form to the questions below that
are relevant to your production.

  1. Are there any potential hazards that could pose a health and safety risk where your photo shoot will take place (trailing cables/traffic/other objects )?

To my knowledge there is nothing major that could potentially harm myself or anybody who is acting within my movie other than some sticks/stones there isnt really anything harmful in any of my locations

  1. What will you do to ensure these risks are minimised?

I will try to shoot in a spot where there is not alot of sticks or rocks meaning that the risk of harm to anyone will decrease

  1. Will the time of day/weather affect the outcome of the photos? Have you allowed for this?

The weather hopefully should not affect the outcome of the photos but if the weather is poor then i will shoot indoor parts

  1. Have you considered the background to your photos, particularly if taken outside? How will you ensure you will get the background you want?

I will get multiple shots just so that i get the background which i want and also shots outside will be in a foresty location meaning that quite alot of the shots will be preety easy to get the desired background

  1. Have you considered lighting? What about the ‘problems’ of natural lighting, either outside, or streaming through a window? Will you need to use a flash? Have you considered reflective objects that might spoil the effect?

I have considered using a flashlight and i think that it would be a smart idea for me to use one for shots which will be shot in areas without much natural lighting but i will try to use as much natural lighting as possible in my shots

  1. Do you need permission to take photos in the place/venue you have in mind?

The place which i am going to be shooting the majority of my movie is going to be in a public park so i will not need permission however if i decide to shoot in any private property i will need to ask for permission from the owner howevei doubt i will shoot on private property

  1. Do you need to book time in a room (eg the photography studio at Shiney)?
I may have to book a room for some extra clips of my movie but that will be decided at a later date when i know whether my other clips will be enough

  1. Are other people/crowds likely to be an issue for you? What have you done to ensure that it will not spoil the effect?

Crowds may be an issue and may not i think to stop crowds i will go to my locations at a time where quite a lot of people will be in work or school meaning that it may not be that big of a problem but shots which maybe shot in college then i will book a room so that there will be no one around

  1. Are you reliant on lifts/props/friends’ equipment/models? How have you planned that these things will come together at the appointed time? Plan B?

I have spoke to friends and discussed which times/days they are free so that i can get a breif timeframe however if certain people cant make it i will shoot scenes that dont involve them. For props i will be able to buy them from a shop so they will be easily accesable. I will not require any lifts to locations as they are not a great distance from home

  1. Finally, have you thought of every eventuality…?

I have thought of most possible outcome and considered multiple options if it dosnt come out as i like
